Sclerotherapy injections are used to treat small varicose veins. The procedure is done in the office using a small needle to inject a sclerosant solution into the varicose vein. This results in an inflammatory response involving the inner lining of the vein which ultimately leads to the obliteration of the vein lumen (the vein closes up).

The recovery is quick and the risks are minimal. Several sessions may be required..

"Many years ago I had my varicose veins stripped. It was very painful and took a long time to heal. I’ve been having problems for several years again. My cardiologist sent me to Dr. Deitz. I am so thankful he did. The procedure was painless and easy. The healing time was very short too. Dr. Deitz and his staff are the most kind, professional and compassionate staff I’ve been around. I highly recommend them to anyone with vein issues."

"I credit Dr. Tollefson with saving my feet and legs - and therefore my life. Dr Tollefson is always pleasant, informative and explains my condition and options for treatment in a way I can fully understand. Dr. Tollefson’s staff is very competent and displays the same caring attitude. While operations are never something I look forward to, I found the care and expertise to be of the highest quality, thereby reducing my and my wife’s stress levels. I am grateful for Dr. Tollefson’s dedication to his practice."
